week 7 1/2: afternoon in SF, blueberry-ricotta pancakes and lots of swatching

Not a whole lot happened over the weekend. I had promised Shortie to take her to the City to look for a dress for her prom, which I keep pretending isn’t really happening. I’m still in denial that this year is her senior year. It feels like yesterday when I was pushing a double stroller down the street or hanging out at the park with my two toddlers and random people would stop to say things like, ‘Oh my goodness, what cuties! Enjoy them mom. They grow up so fast!’ But, as a stressed-out first-time parent, I never really listened. When you are in the middle of raising little kids, your mind is too busy wondering if your children will actually take a nap on your drive back to the house, or if you have enough diapers to make it through another day, so you can avoid another stop, especially if they’ve fallen asleep in the carseats. week 23 recap + a fun Exhibit

a day of airports, planes and automobiles I had to fly to LA last Monday to renew my passport. My day started at 3 a.m. and I didn’t get home until about 10 p.m. It was a very long day, to say the least, full of stress and delays as well as many hours at the San Francisco airport where I got to see the Hair Style exhibit. Did you know people didn’t feel the need to buy shampoo or other hair products until the early 20th century? I loved all the hairdryers and the hairdo sculptures. You can read more about the exhibit and see more photos online at the SFO Museum website. I think I’d love the job of putting together these types of exhibits. I should look into it. Related to this, if you haven’t watched the Netflix series Self Made, you should. It’s good! As always, my favorite part of any flight is when the plane takes off, so I always ask for a window seat.
